Fostering Training & Support
Fusion Fostering offer an exceptional level of support and full training programmes.
Fusion Fostering Training
Fusion Fostering training programmes are fully tailored to meet the needs of becoming a foster carer. We provide training courses and 24/7 support to all of our registered carers.
Safeguarding children is central to everything we do at Fusion Fostering. To feel safe, be healthy and have the chance to grow, achieve and make a difference in life is what children deserve. Our training is designed to help you achieve these things for all of our children.
Foster care training
The TSDS (Training, Support and Development Standards) sets and defines standards for all foster carers to meet, from induction through to on-going development.
- Before approval, we offer a 'Skills to Foster' training session based on the Fostering Network's model, this incorporates the TSD training. The 'Skills to Foster' training is often delivered over 3 full days where the six modules are covered, which are designed to give you the basic skills needed to progress in the fostering application and be prepared to care for a child/children.
- After you have been approved as a registered carer, you will be required to complete courses to ensure your professional development continues. Your appointed supervising social worker will identify along with you what additional training you would need and would benefit from.
- Our training is based on the requirements stated in the National Minimum Standards 2011, the Children Act 1989 and works towards the Five Outcomes laid out in Every Child Matters.
